Birth
Rosetta Randall was the last child of William Randall and Sarah Gooding. She was born in about 1861 after the family moved to Elmira. The date comes from the fact that she is younger than her sister Caroline, based on ages in census, marriage and death sources.Marriage
Rosetta married George E. Gooding, the son of Stephen and Frances Gooding, in Hawkesville on June 14, 1880. The information comes from the Ontario Marriage Index for 1880, reference #011-111.

- Elma Township is nearby in Perth County. While this fact causes no problems, Elmira would have been the expected location for Rosetta's birth.
The couple were living in Elmira in 1881. In 1891 the Goodings were living in Elmira beside the family of Rosetta's sister, Caroline and George Cathrae. They had at least seven children.
Death
Rosetta died in Elmira on December 27, 1900. This information comes from the Ontario Death Index of 1900, #027-040. No obituary appeared in the Elmira Signet or in either of the two Berlin newspapers. Obits were not common in the local paper of the day. When Queen Victoria died a couple of weeks later, it was noted with a single column in the weekly newspaper.Name: Gooding, Rosetta Sex: F[emale] Date: Dec 27/1900 Age: 39.2.18 [yy.m.d] Residence: Elmira, King St Occ: -- married Born: Perth County, O[nt] Religion: Presbyterian Cause: Heart Failure, about 1 1/2 years Physician: N.R. - From the death information, Rosetta was born October 9, 1861. The math is suspect as her older sister was born January 31, 1861.
No entry in the 1901 census has been found for the widower and surviving children. Nothing has been found to tell us where Rosetta was buried or what happened to her husband George.
